Closed out Topic 1.6, then jumped straight into function pointers

I finished Preprocessor and Compilation with an 11/15 final test, then didn't stop there — taught myself all six pieces of Function Pointers in the same sitting.

ProgramDriver Development — Phase 1: C Programming
Session#31
ResultTopic 1.6 final test: 11/15 (73%)
ProgressPhase 1: 220/257 (85.6%) · Total goal: 42.4%

What I got through

  • Finished bytes F5-F8 of Chapter 1.6.F (Kernel-Style Macros & GCC Extensions) — container_of, ARRAY_SIZE, type-safe min/max, offsetof, flexible array members, likely/unlikely, GCC builtins, statement expressions. Passed the chapter test 4/5 (80%).
  • Took the Topic 1.6 final test and passed 11/15 (73%) — Preprocessor and Compilation is done.
  • Started Chapter 1.7.A (Function Pointers) and got through all six bytes: declaring them, assigning them, calling through one, typedef'ing function types, arrays of function pointers, and the callback pattern.

What's next

I'm taking the 1.7.A chapter test first thing next session, then it's on to Linked Lists.
